“Go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Teach them to observe all things that I have commanded you.  And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” - Matthew 28:19-20

We believe that we have been called to use the gifts God has given us to reach unbelievers for Him and to encourage, and build up His Church.

Grandparents' Day

April 30th was Grandparent's Day at WCA, the school where I teach and direct student ministries.  I oversaw a committee of three 7th graders in the organization of this event.  Adam, Grace and Jaclyn did an exceptional job in their first year as the Grandparents' Day committee.

The day began with a special program by Wildlife Adventures from Rochester, NH.  This  educational program is sort of like a travelling zoo.  Run by a retired science teacher, he brought a wallaby, alligator, macaw, giant Australian rabbit, tortoise and more for the world's coolest show and tell.  Yeah, they were real; an actual seven and a half foot alligator in our gym!  Needless to say, it held everyone's attention.

After this program ended, the grandparents and other senior guests went back to their grandchildren's classrooms for snacks and some type of interactive activity.  In my class it was teach a grandparent to juggle.  It was a lot of fun, but I don't think the kids need to worry about Grandpa or Grandma upstaging them at the next family party.

We returned to the gym after that for a time of worship led by the high school worship team, and then LOL - our student juggling troupe - did a shortened version of our show.  The kids did great adapting to the changes in the program.  After we finished, the guests were invited to stay for lunch.

One final note:  The day would have been impossible if the entire middle school class didn't all pitch in to set up 30 tables and 240 chairs in the gym, then put the all away again the same afternoon.  "Many hands make light work."
