“Go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Teach them to observe all things that I have commanded you.  And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” - Matthew 28:19-20

We believe that we have been called to use the gifts God has given us to reach unbelievers for Him and to encourage, and build up His Church.

A Rose in the City

I just got off of the phone with our youngest daughter, Rose.  she is spending two weeks as part of Youth with a Mission's "Joshua Generation" program.  This is their junior high branch, and her team went through training last week in the Boston area.  They are now in New York until Sunday.

Rose, who signed up for JG with her friend, Corban, is 12 years old.  This is her first time away from home this far and for this long.  She says she is loving it.  She has made lots of new friends, and is having an experience like none other in her young life.  The team is trained in street theatre and ministry.  Of course, I asked if she had the opportunity to use her juggling.  Apparently, she and Corban juggle while a staff member beat boxes.  This attracts a crowd, at which time they have some dance routines, then a skit entitled "Doors".  I have seen this before, and it is a very effective way of presenting the choices we make each day, and the ultimate choice we all face as to what we will decide about the claims of Jesus. After this, the kids go into the audience and talk about the play with the crowd.  Always, they are prepared to pray with anyone about anything that they may request.

While I miss my girl (and current juggling partner), I am thrilled that she is having this experience.  There is no safer place to be than in the will of God.  Even if that is in the Bronx.
