“Go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Teach them to observe all things that I have commanded you.  And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” - Matthew 28:19-20

We believe that we have been called to use the gifts God has given us to reach unbelievers for Him and to encourage, and build up His Church.

Easton Wesleyan Church

Our summer performing began yesterday with a Sunday service at the Easton, Maine Wesleyan Church. This was our first time in this church of about 100 people.  Easton is a small farming community in the northernmost part of Maine.  It is a community marked primarily with potato farms and little churches.  It was a beautiful ride form our summer camp two towns over on a beautiful summer day.

The service began with music.  It was just two ladies leading the singing, but it was very well done.  The style  I would describe as what you’d here in a church in the southern parts of the country: upbeat music, clapping, and the older lady playing piano was very skilled.  That granny could rock!

We did a 45 minute program in two sets on either side of the offering.  My 11 year old daughter,Rose, and I performed “Mary and Marty” – our version of the Gospel story of Mary and Martha, the two sisters who entertained Jesus in their home – for the first time in over a year.  While the juggling portions of in had a few rough spots, the overall performance was good, eliciting much laughter and and amens.  We also did several of our regulars like “Jonah and the Whale”, “God’s Word Goes on Forever” and my machete routine to Charlie Peacock’s “Don’t be Afraid”.

After the service, it was mentioned to us that “Easton Days” was coming up in a few weeks and someone who knew someone was going to try to get us into the entertainment program that Saturday.  We’d love to go back to this sweet, welcoming community.
