“Go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Teach them to observe all things that I have commanded you.  And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” - Matthew 28:19-20

We believe that we have been called to use the gifts God has given us to reach unbelievers for Him and to encourage, and build up His Church.

$500 worth of Chocolate Bars

The 7th and 8th grade girls in my class have been doing a weekly Bible study with one of our high school students, Lauren, who is also a close friend of our family.  I have met few teens who love the Lord with such gritty sincerity as "Lo".  Anyway, I know the girls have been selling candy bars for one dollar each throughout this past winter.  I knew it was for a ministry project 'to be determined'.

Last week they blew me away.  They raised $1000 just from selling candy (dentists in the area of our school are now able to send their kids to college!).  They gave half the money to a walk-a-thon for epilepsy research -there's a boy in the class whose 5 year old cousin has this dsorder, and this gift was in her honor.

The remaining $500 was given to our trip to Paraguay this coming August.  I was speechless, which my students say is a very rare occurance for me!  This is almost exactly what we need for visas ( a ridiculous amount, I know, but the third world will take it where ever they can get it.)  Our trip is all set now, including additional spending money for odds and ends.

I always stress ministry to the students at school, with an emphasis on giving.  What a blessing to be the one they chose to give to.  These 11 girls are every bit as responsible for any good things God does through us in South America as we are.  "How can they hear if no one goes.  And how can one go unless one is sent."  Thank you girls for helping to send us.  We will be the best stewards of your gift we know how ot be.
