On our final day in Connecticut, LOL had to get up at 6:00 AM in order to pack and clean up the church before leaving for our final gig of the trip and of the school year.  Waking 23 teens at 6:00 AM seems like a daunting task, but they complied pretty well.  The fellowship hall, we were told, was going to be needed for zumba that morning and we needed to leave it zumba-ready. 

Our show was at a Christian school about 45 minutes away from our base.  When we did a show at this school on our trip two years ago, there was an enrollment of 26 kids.  This year they have 53.  It’s nice to see the numbers growing for them.

Our final show was excellent, which is always a nice way to close out the year.  Matt was the 8^th grader spotlighted in a solo, and he nailed it.  We had the audience won over in the first few moments of our opening routine, and even the kindergarteners paid attention for the whole 65 minute program. 

The students in the van I was driving slept most of the way home, except for a 45 minute stop somewhere in Massachusetts where we were able to treat the kids to a Chinese buffet.  We had a surplus of money, and they certainly deserved the treat.
