“Go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Teach them to observe all things that I have commanded you.  And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” - Matthew 28:19-20

We believe that we have been called to use the gifts God has given us to reach unbelievers for Him and to encourage, and build up His Church.

So Much More Than an Anniversary

27 years ago, I married the love of my life.  We were both in our early twenties and excited to start a life together united in our faith in Christ, and it has been a great 27 years.  We had, of course, no idea what our lives together would be like: six years of infertility, three daughters, 27 Christmases (Each year proclaiming we had the ‘Best tree ever!)’…  I  wouldn’t have it any other way.

Last night we celebrated our 27th anniversary by going to my school’s dinner / talent show fund raising event.  OK, not as romantic as our 25th,when we renewed our vows, but last night was special.  First of all, our two older girls, both students at Nyack College in New York arrived home for spring break.  They didn’t even have time to go home first, they went straight to the school, which is also their alma mater.  It was nice hearing about Jo’s crazy psych professor and Naomi’s job at the library (apparently the basketball players are notorious for making the librarians’ jobs difficult.)  Best of all, we have them home for several more days.

In addition, Tammy, a longtime friend who has worked for meand lived with us on and off for several years came up from Florida to surprisethe girls.  She is doing well and hasestablished herself through the often turbulent transition to adulthood.  She is like an older sister to the girls andlike a daughter to Sue and me.  Did shereally pick up such a southern accent so quickly?

The performances sort of got lost in our family reunion, but I was asked to be on the panel of staff who decided on the student to receive the judge’s choice award.  A group of high school kids who did a hysterical skit were the unanimous winners.  I also did a 10 minute set of Supreme Court Jesters routines which is always fun to do for an audience of students and coworkers.  It was a great evening.

Upon returning home, we all sat in our way-to-small-for-six-people-and-a-dog living room and told stories and laughed til it almost hurt.  We see so little o four older girls (Tammy included) that nights like last night are very, very precious.
