“Go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Teach them to observe all things that I have commanded you.  And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” - Matthew 28:19-20

We believe that we have been called to use the gifts God has given us to reach unbelievers for Him and to encourage, and build up His Church.

Bridgton Alliance Harvest Party Show

Tonight I had the privilege of performing in my home church for a Halloween / Harvest party. There was a large turn out - in part due to remnants of Hurricane Sandy still pouring showers on would be trick-or-treaters. there was a large representation of children and their parents, many of whom are not normally attenders of our church. For the first hour or so there were games, crafts and snacks. Then, at 7:00 the whole party moved into the sanctuary where I did a 40 minute show.

I opened with "The Dry Bones Dance", a song by the late Mark Heard, to which I do a do glow in the dark diabolo routine dressed in a glowing skeleton costume. I have only done this routine four or five times before, but it was flawless tonight. I was very pleased. It also gave me a good jumping off place for our routines for the rest of the night. I built on the theme of Ezekiel's vision of the valley of bones becoming restored to life. I used a variety of routines to talk about God being One who always brings life where there is none. I did routines about the resurrection, hope, peace, forgiveness and other ways God brings life to those who need it.

One of the highlights was that our frind, Lauren, ran our music. She was there to help with the party, and it's always nice to work with a 15 year old who is 10 times the Christian of your average youth group kid. I can't wait to see what God has for this young lady's future.

The evening was a lot of fun for all of us, and I think the Gospel was presented in a way that everyone could understand. I hope we see some of the visitors back in church again soon.
