Supreme Court Jester’s
Annual Report, 2025
In 2025, I did many shows (I did not keep an exact count) in a variety of settings including: Somerset County Jail, both the Lewiston and Portland Root Cellars, Little Falls Baptist Church, and a variety of other churches, camps, nursing homes, and community events. I am especially pleased that I was able to get into 1 River View Psychiatric Hospital for the first time since Covid, and The Rock House / His Place Teen Center for the first time since their previous director died in a car accident in 2019.In each setting, the Gospel was shared, hopefully in a way that was meaningful to the age and make up of the audience.
Of all the venues in which I shared, perhaps my favorite was in Round Rock, Texas. While there visiting our daughters, I was invited to do a program for the Round Rock Teen Challenge. This is a girls’ home for teens who are dealing with life controlling issues ranging from addiction, to self harm, and non-violent criminal activity. After the Gospel presentation, we got to interact with the girls. Since our two daughters were there, we taught the girls some basic juggling skills. It was a sweet, blessed time.
I continue to maintain my ministry’s website, so I continue to blog about shows as well as, well, pretty much anything that pops into my mind.
As I shared in church recently, God has blessed me with thousands of dollars of used props through the kindness of a retiring magician and the miracle that is Facebook marketplace. My students have already been learning these new tricks, and one has already been working into their show. Meanwhile, there is one I’m keeping for myself (deemed too dangerous for the students by my principal). I have used it in three recent shows to effectively teach repentance.
This ministry continues to receive financial support from Tree of Life Church in Windham, this church, and Karlene Chute, for which I am very grateful.
Respectfully submitted,
Richard Hagerstrom
