“Go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Teach them to observe all things that I have commanded you.  And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” - Matthew 28:19-20

We believe that we have been called to use the gifts God has given us to reach unbelievers for Him and to encourage, and build up His Church.

Family Fun Day

Prior to the covid-19 pandemic, the Kezar Falls (Maine) Assembly of God had held a family fun day at the Cornish fairgrounds each September for severl years.  I performed at the last two before the pandemic.  I remember 2018's was cold and drizzly.  2019's was hot and windy.  With the pandemic waning, alhough not over, they brought it back for September of 2022.  Again I was asked to juggle, and this year the weather was comfortable, if a bit gusty at times.

The event is pretty big.  There's free burgers, chips and drinks, a clothing give away, bounce house, hay rides and more.  Before I went on, the church's youth group did an hour set of worship songs.  You could hear the nervousness in the teens' voices at first, but it was truly beautiful hearing the next generation of the church worshiping God on this crisp autumn day.

My set ran close to an hour as well.  Because I never knew when a gust of wind would strike, I didn't bother with tables, but worked out of crates, buckets  and my collapsible wagon.  This made things a lot easier.  I also went heavy on magic and did only four juggling routines.  The only time the wind was a problem was when I was doing the herringbone balance.  I was able to keep the nine boxes stacked up on my head without crashing down onme, but barely!  I'm especially grateful that it stayed up since this was my closing routine.

It always surprises me how sparsely attended the event seems to be when everyone is spread out throughout the open fairgrunds.  Then, when it's showtime, and they gather in one place, there's a lot more than it had appeared.  This was true again this time.  And, God willing, I'll be part of the 2023 event as well.
