Thursday:
No time for an entry Wednesday. We actually did a show in a public school! On 10 minutes notice the principal closed the school and had the kids gather in the courtyard and we told them about Jesus.
I didn't sleep well Tuesday night, so I was very tired Wednesday. Then came Wednesday night's show. It was the type of show I hate! Between my lack of energy, and problems beyond my control: electrical blackouts and kids swarming the stage (which was actually a grassy area where I was juggling). I was very disappointed.
Then today came. We did street ministry in Wendy's and "Frank's" neighborhood. Kids an adults everywhere! And it was so poor.- open sewage running through th 'street' (path) pigs being slaughtered on people's front steps, rotten meat in the street, etc. The kids were so grateful and happy.
Then we went back to the construction site. I remember a kid talking to me, and my not understanding. He offered to get the doctor on our team, and she began treatin me for heat exhaustion. But as I sat there on a sack of mortar, seriously wondering if I was dying, I realized this is why I came. God showed me that this is where looking to do more and more shows would get me. This is whre measuring my Christianity by works gets me. Lots of shows doesn't make me a good Christian. Impressing myself and others with how much I work got me in that position. Jesus needs to be Lord of my ministry (and everything else) 100%.
So after they got me back to camp and I was feeling a little better I explained this to our critical catre nurse, and began absolutely weeping and repenting. God will only purify us from our impure hearts ( a lot or a little impure) at one of two times. When we're alive or at the judgment seat. Thank you Lordfor dealing with me now.
I spent the afternoon at John's (the missionary we are working with) and returned to camp fo supper. There was a big slab of pork skinwith the hair still on it in my soup. Although I didn't eat the skin, the soup was delicious!
I think I'll call sue Sunday (there were pay phones at teh camp). I miss my girls.
