“Go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Teach them to observe all things that I have commanded you.  And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” - Matthew 28:19-20

We believe that we have been called to use the gifts God has given us to reach unbelievers for Him and to encourage, and build up His Church.

Easton Baptist Church

Last weekend we had two shows at a local church; We did the Sunday school hour and the church service itself.  Easton Baptist is part of our yearly summer line up while we're in northern Maine, and they have always been a gracious and welcoming church.  In fact, the first or second time we performed there, we started late because our daughter, Naomi, was meeting us there and bringing my ipod with her.  she got lost, and arrived 10 minutes late.  Nonetheless, the pastor has had us back annually, and we always have a good time.

During Sunday school, I did routines that focused on Heaven, including my new piece about the marriage feast of the Lamb and "Keys to the Kingdom", a piece I rarely include but have rediscovered lately.  I also included a prediction trick using my new spirit slates.  I always enjoy performing things for the first several times. Of course, I also included a fair share of juggling and older pieces.

In church, I again returned to the topic of grace, but this time using routines that focused on the grace pours upon us in our day to day life on this side of eternity.  How easy it is to think that 'trying harder' or 'praying harder' (what does that mean, really?) brings us closer to God.  I closed with the linking rings routine based on Jesus' parable of the vine and branches.  What we miss often is that Jesus says God  does the pruning.  The only command to the 'branches' (believers) is 'remain'.

I also shared a blog from each of my books, and ended up selling 13 copies!  A new one day sales record.  Additionally, they gave us a very generous offering toward our future trip to Uganda.  Please keep this trip in prayer as we continue to seek God's timing for this opportunity.
