Rose and I did a show recently at a rehabilitation hospital in Norway, Maine.  The show was, of course, for any and all patients who came, but we specifically set up this gig because of one gentleman.  Dody Maxfield has been a member of our church for 42 years, and he has recently had a stroke and is recovering at the hospital.  Not too long ago, his wife of over 50 years passed away, so he's been through a lot.  He's told me before he is ready to go be with his wife.

 Because Dody was really our reason for setting up the gig, I also invited some of our worship team to be part of the afternoon as well.  Several women came to play piano and sing hymns before the show and again part way through it as well. When Rose and I arrived, Dody was in the living room area and was quick to greet us.  He remembered us both immediately.  The musicians came shortly after, and began singing soon afterwards.  This allowed Rose and me to set up our show. 

At two o'clock, Rose and I began our routines.  We did about 25 minutes, then turned things back over to the musicians for a while.  then we closed out the show for another 20 minutes or so.  It was a nice change from our usual performance.  Dody was really appreciative, which made it all worthwhile.
